Scene Development

Scene development is something that mystified me when I first began to play in BDSM Scenes.   I, like many others, did not realize that a Scene is like the unfolding of a story with a beginning, middle and an end.  In my scenes, I add elements which contain both technique and drama that "build together" to form my storyline and are intrinsically related, which help bring the scene to a peak; otherwise, the scene may turn out like a cheap buffet lunch and bring scene indigestion rather than a satisfying feeling afterward.

If I add disparate elements like a little flogging, a little menthol on the genitals, some rope around the ankles, knife work on the forearms and then followed these by a take down finish, the result would lack continuity and appear disjointed rather than flowing smoothly where both Top and bottom end up flying high.

Based on my knowledge and reading of the bottom, I will either step on the gas or the brake pedal to propel the scene in a particular direction because I want the scene to build and the bottom to crest on an endorphin high teetering on the edge of "just right and too much".
